That incident is carried out by Athwa against prisoners in prison. This incident caused resistance from Nabila's character by revealing this incident to the Egyptian. Finally Nabila was able to defeat Athwa through process of achieving self-actualization of Nabila’ character. This research aims to reveal the self-actualization of the character Nabila in the novel Riḥlah Ilallāh by Najib Kailani Maslow's theory focuses on the freedom that individuals have in expressing their opinions and freely choosing their life choices. It’s not just that, this theory also has concerns about humanity in relation by their environment. Maslow stated that a person will be at the point of happiness when they have reached the level of self-actualization. Maslow has a humanistic theory in the named a theory of motivation that is called by hierarchy of needs, namely a theory of human needs arranged in stages. The research method used is descriptive qualitative, with data sources from the novel Riḥlah Ilallāh and several similar relevant studies. The research results show that the charachter of Nabila has achieved five basic needs. They are physiological needs in form of achieving food, clothing, and shelter. The needs for self-security is in achieving form of protection. The needs for love and belongingness is in achieving love from family and and husband. The needs for self-esteem is in the form of recognition from the community. The needs for self-actualization is in achieving through the publication of a book by her name as a author. That books tells about the bloody tragedy in a war prison. Nabila’s character also has the characteristics of self-actualized %Z Pembimbing: Dr. Uki Sukiman, M.Ag
