Ag %T POTRET PERISTIWA YAUM AL-ARḌ DI PALESTINA DALAM PUISI-PUISI PALESTINA: TINJAUAN NEW HISTORICISM %X This study aims to reveal a portrait of the events of Yaum al-Arḍ that occurred in Palestine on March 30, 1976 through recordings of Palestinian poems and nonliterary data related to Yaum al-Arḍ. The theory used in this study is new historicism promoted by Stephen Greenblatt. This research is a descriptive qualitative research using library research methods and documentation techniques. In its analysis, this study conducted a parallel reading between literary texts and nonliterary data in accordance with the new historicism approach. The sources of data in this study are the poem Qaṣīdah al-Arḍ by Mahmūd Darwisy, 'Arabiyyah Kānat wa Tabqâ Arḍanā by Samih al-Qasim, Hunā Bāqūn by Taufiq Zayyad, Qaṣīdah al-Arḍ by Mu'in Bseisu, Ma'a al-Arḍ by Rasyid Husain. Its nonliterary data are news, posters and leaflets, and monuments. After a parallel reading between the literary text and nonliterary data, it was found that first, the Yaum al-Arḍ incident was caused by the Israeli government's policy of annexing part of Palestinian land. Second, the Yaum al-Arḍ event was a mass demonstration as a rejection of Israeli policies. The event was dominated by young people with passionate enthusiasm and high intensity. Third, the event occurred in March 1976. Fourth, the areas affected by Yaum al-Arḍ are Galilee, Hebron, Jerusalem, Acre, Tel Aviv, Lad, Ramla, Jericho, Nablus, Nazareth, Carmel, Qastal, 'Amman, Lebanon, Rafa, and the Gaza Strip.
