The method used is correlational quantitative research with a total of 303 subjects consisting of 151 men and 152 women of early adult age in Yogyakarta City. The sampling method was non-probability sample. The measuring instruments used are the emotion regulation scale and the self-compassion scale, which were then analyzed with Pearson's product-moment correlation test. The results showed a positive significant relationship between self-compassion and emotional regulation, with a significance of 0.000 (p < 0.05). The effective contribution of self-compassion to emotion regulation is 65%. This result implies that emotion regulation can be improved with good self-compassion.
