%X This research discusses the reputation management conducted by BEM FMIPA UNY in the case of hoax news on sexual violence to restore the organization’s image. This is based on the widespread hoax news on social media aimed at damaging the reputation of one BEM FMIPA UNY member, which subsequently affected the reputation of BEM FMIPA UNY as a whole. The study aims to analyze reputation management in the case of hoax news on sexual violence in restoring the image of BEM FMIPA UNY. The method used is a qualitative approach, with data collection methods through interviews, observations, and documentation. The analysis in this research refers to reputation management theory linked with image restoration theory. The results show that BEM FMIPA UNY 2024 has taken steps in reputation management to restore its image; however, BEM FMIPA UNY 2024 has not yet implemented media relations activities. Despite this, BEM FMIPA UNY 2024 has been relatively successful in carrying out reputation management efforts to restore its image effectively. In restoring the image after the hoax news on sexual violence that occurred in 2023, BEM FMIPA UNY 2024 implemented three main actions: first, posting a recap of the case accompanied by educational content about hoaxes, sexual violence, and a reporting mechanism. Second, collaborating with the Women Empowerment Office regarding issues of sexual violence. Third, partnering with other organizations related to the reporting process of sexual violence. Additionally, the implementation of other work programs also supports efforts to restore the image of BEM FMIPA UNY 2024. Overall, the actions taken have received positive reactions from various parties.
