abstract: Parenting patterns have an important role in supporting children's growth and development. The right parenting pattern will produce quality children, while the wrong parenting pattern can hinder children's development. In addition, the development of technology, especially gadgets, also affects children's lives. Although gadgets have a positive impact, excessive use risks causing negative impacts. The use of gadgets by children is often influenced by parental parenting patterns so that the way parents educate their children greatly affects their behavior and habits. This study aims: (1) To identify how many types of parenting patterns parents have for children. (2) To determine the impact of parenting patterns on children. (3) To determine the implications of parenting patterns on the intensity of gadget use in children. This study uses a descriptive qualitative research method with a case study approach. The techniques used in collecting data are observation, interview, and documentation techniques. The results of the study showed that in Mumbu Village there were four parenting patterns applied by parents. These parenting patterns not only have an impact on children's behavior but also on the intensity of early childhood gadget use. namely: First, authoritarian parenting, Impact on children: quiet, difficult to socialize, and often say bad words. Impact on gadget use: less use. Second, permissive parenting, Impact on children: spoiled, less independent, not confident, and emotionally unstable. Impact on gadget use: very high or even unlimited use. Third, democratic parenting, Impact on children: more active, respect others. Impact on gadget use: relatively balanced use. Fourth, neglectful parenting, Impact on children: less independent, quiet, and at risk of physical and psychological depression. Impact on gadget use: very high or even unlimited use (similar to permissive parenting).
