The purpose of this study: 1) to find out the need for the tradition of panai money in ethnic Bugis marriages 2) to find out the stages of the process before the wedding in the Bugis Bone ethnic tradition 3) to find out the values of Islamic education in the tradition of panai money for marriages in Bone district. This type of research uses qualitative. This research uses an ethnographic approach, the primary data source is the local community. Secondary data sources are obtained from literature in the form of books related to the research. The authors collected data through observation, interviews, and documentation. The technique of processing and analysing the data of this research uses data reduction, data display, and drawing and verifying. As for testing the validity of the data, namely by triangulating sources, research extension, and observation persistence. The results of this study indicate that the people of South Sulawesi in Bone district carry out the marriage process with the Bugis ethnic panai money tradition as a condition for maintaining the existing cultural traditions from generation to generation. This shows that the ethnic Bugis prove to love the traditional culture that has existed for a long time. The process of the stages leading up to the ethnic Bugis wedding in Bone regency, South Sulawesi, namely, mammanu-manu/mappese-pese, massuro or madutta, mappettu ada, cemme pasih, mappacci, and mappenre botting or maduppa botting, where in each process there are meanings and values of Islamic Education, such as the value of individual and social respect, compassion, responsibility and deliberation. %Z Dr. H.
