This means they can have legal rights and obligations just like any other normal person, including in matters of inheritance. However, there are competency requirements for inheritance that cannot be met by individuals with disabilities, so individuals with disabilities are considered incapable of performing legal actions. The main issues in this research are first, the position of inheritance rights for disabled heirs, and second, the legal protection for disabled heirs as reviewed in the Civil Code and UU No. 8 of 2016 concerning Persons with Disabilities. The research method used is the normative legal research method in the form of legal researching. The sources of this research include primary sources such as the Civil Code and Law No. 8 of 2016 on Persons with Disabilities, and secondary sources such as books, journals, and articles on the internet related to this research. The sources were collected using the literature study data collection technique and will then be analyzed using the qualitative descriptive technique. The research findings regarding the position of inheritance rights for disabled heirs and legal protection for disabled heirs in the Civil Code and UU No. 8 of 2016 on Persons with Disabilities indicate that the Civil Code and UU No. 8 of 2016 on Persons with Disabilities recognize that disabled individuals have inheritance rights just like other normal heirs. Meanwhile, the legal protection for disabled heirs is that in carrying out legal actions, they must be accompanied by a guardian to ensure their rights.
