Forum Taaruf Indonesia (Fortais) comes with a unique and sustainable approach. For 18 years, Fortais has consistently organized mass weddings that focus on individuals who have difficulty finding a partner and getting married. Fortais' nikah bareng program, although seemingly based on social concern, still raises critical questions about the possibility of commodification. This phenomenon deserves further study, whether it is merely a form of social concern or also a marketing strategy to attract participants and increase Fortais' popularity. This research aims 1) To reveal the reasons and motives behind the initiative of Forum Taaruf Indonesia 2) To analyze the pattern and process of implementing nikah bareng organized by the Indonesian Taaruf Forum. The type of research conducted is field research (field research), with qualitative methods, the nature of this research is analytical descriptive research. The approach used by the compiler is an empirical sociological approach with Max Weber's social action theory and Karl Marx's commodification theory, the data source consists of primary data and secondary data. Primary data, namely interviews with 3 Fortais administrators and 6 couples who participated in nikah bareng. Secondary data, namely all books, documents, articles and news related to the focus of this research. Data collection techniques in the study consisted of interviews, observation, documentation and literature study. The results of this study show that; First, Fortais held a nikah bareng motivated by two main factors, fortais' concern for the social phenomenon of marriage and social entertainment innovation. Fortais' concern is based on several things, including the socio-economic conditions after the 2006 Yogyakarta earthquake, the high cost of marriage, and the decline in marriage rates. Fortais wants to facilitate weddings for those who have difficulties, as well as support the implementation of marriage worship in Islam. Fortais packaged nikah bareng as an interesting and entertaining social entertainment. This innovation not only provides a memorable experience for the wedding couple, but also aims to improve the local economy, preserve culture, promote tourism and strengthen social ties. They are not only goal-oriented and efficient (zweckrational), but also based on values of care, religious beliefs, and social norms (wertrarional). Second, the pattern and process of Fortais mass weddings are unique and different from mass weddings in general. Fortais commodifies weddings as social entertainment to support the sustainability of the program, not to generate profits. Commodification is done by packaging nikah bareng in a unique and interesting way to attract participants and get support from various parties. The support is used to organize a better nikah bareng and reach more participants.
