The transformations and innovations that continue to be made every year have made this activity increasingly popular. However, this success brings new challenges, where the initial values and goals of the activity begin to shift due to the pressure of popularity and commodification. This phenomenon attracts the attention of researchers to dig deeper into the dynamics that occur, especially regarding how commodification affects ngaji philosophy at the Jendral Sudirman Mosque, as well as its implications for the meaning and practice of the activity. This research is a field research using a qualitative method that is descriptive analytical, this research uses a field approach to directly observe the occurrence of commodification in the ngaji filsafat activity. This qualitative research adopts the triangulation method to simplify the process of data collection and analysis, allowing researchers to approach the truth through the convergence of various perspectives. While data collection uses observation, interview and documentation methods. Then, the data was analyzed applying the theory of commodification from Karl Marx and Jean Baudrillard. First, in the formal commodification stage, ngaji filsafat begins to be introduced to a wider audience and becomes something that has social or economic exchange value, but its essence as a religious and intellectual activity is maintained. In the formal commodification of ngaji filsafat occurs through a change to an open study involving sponsors. Secondly, ngaji filsafat has undergone a significant transformation from an ordinary study room to a platform on YouTube, which reflects the commodification process. This innovation, supported by the involvement of MJS Press as a publisher, strengthens the commercial value of the activity. Through the publishing of philosophy books, this activity does not only serve to disseminate knowledge. This generates surplus value from the YouTube and MJS Press commodities in the ngaji filsafat program, by generating financial income that supports the sustainability and development of ngaji filsafat. Third, from the researcher's investigation, it can be concluded that the role of Dr. Faruddin Faiz is very important in popularizing ngaji filsafat. His presence not only makes an intellectual contribution, but also forms a certain image and symbolism. Jean Baudrillard's perspective on the value of symbols can explain how Dr. Faruddin Faiz functions as a symbol in ngaji filsafat, which according to Baudrillard, symbols create meaning and value in the social system.
