description: The delay in returning library collections is a common issue in every library.  Previous research has noted that the majority of delays in returning collections  occur because borrowers forget to return them. Therefore, a complex library  information system is needed to address the issue of collection return delays. SLiMS  is a library information system that facilitates library management. However, in  handling cases of collection return delays, especially in notifying borrowers, it is  still inadequate because there is no notification through the most widely used social  media platform, WhatsApp. This research employs the Research and Development  method with an experimental approach. The development of the plugin utilizes the  System Development Life Cycle (SDLC) method with a prototype development  approach. Black box testing, using equivalence partitioning technique, accuracy  testing through confusion matrix, and system quality testing using the DeLone and  McLean method are employed for plugin development testing. Several elements are  required for this research, including software, hardware, testing devices, and  programming languages. The result of this research is an automatic notification  plugin for collection return delays through the WhatsApp gateway, utilizing  Cronjob or Schedule Task. The testing results, conducted with 15 respondents  meeting specific criteria, indicate a validity rate of 100% for black box testing,  accuracy of 100%, and excellent system quality with a validity rate of 100%.  Therefore, it is expected that this plugin can be used by librarians to provide delay  notifications to borrowers and reduce cases of collection return delays.
