"Library staff perform a variety of tasks on a daily basis, such as providing services\r\nto users, performing administrative work, and routine tasks such as selecting,\r\nprocessing, and maintaining library materials. Serving the diverse needs and queries\r\nof users requires a great deal of energy, as well as patience and understanding of\r\ntheir wishes. All of this work can provide workload, both physically and mentally\r\nfor library staff. The purpose of this study was to determine the level of mental\r\nworkload felt by library staff at the Yogyakarta State University Library and to\r\npropose strategies in an effort to reduce mental workload based on the final results.\r\nThis research uses quantitative descriptive method. The subjects in this study were\r\nlibrary staff at the Yogyakarta State University Library with a population of ten\r\npeople. Due to the small population, this study used saturated samples where all\r\nmembers of the population were sampled, namely 10 respondents. The method for\r\ncalculating the mental workload of library staff is the NASA-TLX method. The\r\ndata collection technique used a questionnaire provided by NASA-TLX. Data\r\nanalysis techniques used in accordance with NASA-TLX procedures are calculating\r\nproduct value, calculating WWL or Weighted Workload, calculating average\r\nWWL, and classification of mental workload final results. The results of this\r\nresearch show that the workload felt by library staff is relatively high, with the\r\nhighest score being 89.33% in the very high category and the lowest score being\r\n46.66% in the somewhat high category. It was also found that the factor that most\r\ninfluences mental workload is Performance with a percentage of 29%.
