%X ABSTRACT 
This thesis aims to get an overview of the phonetic competence of children with dysarthria and oral apraxia in Jambi city in pronouncing Arabic vocabulary in short letters. In addition, this study also looks at the patterns of deviations made by children with dysarthria and oral apraxia. This type of research is qualitative with a case study research approach. The case study in this research is a single case study on each subject. This research was conducted in several stages, namely data collection, data analysis and presentation of data analysis results. Data collection was carried out at different times, in the case of dysarthria children in May 2023 for 2 weeks, then in the case of oral apraxia children in August 2023 for 3 weeks. The data obtained in the form of the pronunciation of dysarthria and oral apraxia children in reciting short letters contained in the Qur'an. Data analysis in this study is by transcribing phonetically to see the phonetic competence and sound deviations made by the subject.  
The results of the analysis show that 1) phonetic competence in pronouncing Arabic vocabulary of the two subjects is low, there are many sounds that are not mastered by the two subjects, besides that they are only able to pronounce words with simple structures such as only consisting of two syllables. 2)	their phonological deviation forms are sound replacement (substitution), sound omission (omotion), sound addition (addition), and sound irregularity (distortion).
3)	there are differences in the pattern of sound deviation in dysarthric subjects and oral apraxia. The dysarthric subject tends to deviate from sound replacement, omission and irregularity, while the oral apraxia subject deviates from substitution, omission, addition, irregularity, repetition and prolongation.
