N2 - Income inequality is a problem that occurs in both developed and developing countries, including Indonesia. Income inequality is an indicator that describes the resources distributed to the community as measured by the World Bank criteria. Income inequality among residents in a region can be seen from the distribution of public expenditure in Central Java. This study attempts to analyze the factors that contribute to income inequality using variables such as economic growth, poverty and open unemployment. This study took a sample of 35 districts/cities in Central Java Province in the period 2013-2023. This study was analyzed using the REM (Random Effect Model) approach. The statistical test results show that economic growth has a positive and insignificant effect on income inequality, poverty has a positive and significant effect on income inequality, while the open unemployment rate has a positive and insignificant effect on income inequality in Central Java Province in the period 2013-2023.
