One of the parties that has a close relationship with the continuity of adolescent life is the teacher. Teachers have a strategic position in shaping behavior and character in students at school. One of the tools that teachers can use as a means to avoid juvenile delinquency is the interpersonal communication approach. Through effective interpersonal communication, teachers can understand students' emotional conditions and help them control their emotions. This study aims to determine the application of teachers' interpersonal communication in controlling students' emotions at SMA N 1 Kebumen. The method in this study uses a descriptive qualitative approach with the object of research at SMAN 1 Kebumen. This approach provides an opportunity to explore and analyze various aspects that arise from the interaction between teachers and students in the field. The method of data collection in this research is by interview and observation to the teacher of SMAN 1 Kebumen.
