N2  - Based on data from the Central Bureau of Statistics, the marriage rate in Indonesia has decreased. The decline in marriage rates eventually led to a phenomenon among women commonly called Waithood or delaying marriage. From the phenomenon that occurs, the postponement of marriage is mostly carried out by women from ordinary society, but it also occurs among the Islamic College community, in this case female teachers known as As?t??ah, who are known to be strong in classical fiqh teachings. The existence of social changes in society also affects women's beliefs, mindsets, and behaviors that have an impact on the decision to carry out marriage.
This type of research is field research with a juridical-normative approach. While the data analysis method used is analytical descriptive. In the data collection method, the authors used interviews and documentation.
The results of the study show that the postponement of As?t??ah's marriage at Tremas Islamic College is motivated by several factors; (1) not finding the right partner, (2) mental, (3) work, (4) education. The decision of the As?t??ah to postpone marriage is an acceptable action and is considered a preventive effort for potential risks in married life. In addition, this decision is also by social values that show the goodness of behavior in married life in order to achieve effectiveness and efficiency in marriage.
