abstract: Desa Randegan, located in Kebasen District, Banyumas Regency, is known for the presence of Pondok Pesantren Attaujieh Al-Islamy, founded by KH. Zuhdie. This pesantren has given birth to four other pesantren, resulting in several kiai in the village who teach at these pesantren and serve as role models for the community in addressing various issues. The phenomenon of wives working as migrant women workers abroad arises due to economic pressures, lifestyle, and social influences. This condition has positive effects, such as improved economic welfare, but also negative impacts, such as a lack of attention to children. This research aims to explore the efforts of migrant women workers' families in forming a sakinah family in Desa Randegan and to investigate the kiai's views on these efforts.
This study uses field research conducted in Desa Randegan. It is descriptive-analytic in nature, aimed at identifying and examining the kiai's views on the formation of sakinah families for Indonesian migrant women workers. The approach used is normative-sociological, examining the issues from the perspective of Islamic law and social practices. Primary data is obtained through interviews with village officials, 5 migrant women workers, 4 families of migrant women workers, and 5 kiai, while secondary data is taken from documents, archives, and related literature. Data collection techniques include interviews and documentation, with qualitative data analysis using an inductive reasoning method.
The results of this study conclude that the formation of a sakinah family in the families of migrant women workers in Desa Randegan is carried out with a commitment to maintaining harmony despite the distance. The efforts to form sakinah families among migrant women workers in Desa Randegan include mutual love, understanding, accepting each other's strengths and weaknesses, and grounding the family in Islamic law. Five kiai acknowledge the positive steps taken by families to form sakinah families despite the distance, though there are differing views on whether women should work as migrant workers. Two kiai do not allow it due to the risks to family unity, while three kiai permit it under certain conditions.
