"The rapid development of information technology has\r\nmade it easier for society to conduct transactions, including\r\nthrough e-commerce platforms like Tokopedia. However, as\r\ntechnology advances, it also brings negative impacts,\r\nparticularly in relation to threats of personal data breaches.\r\nPersonal data breaches have become an increasingly crucial\r\nissue, especially with the rise in data breach cases, which result\r\nin significant impacts on consumers. Tokopedia, as one of the\r\nlargest e-commerce platforms in Indonesia, carries a great\r\nresponsibility in protecting the personal data of its users.\r\nHowever, past data breaches have raised questions regarding the\r\ndata protection standards implemented by Tokopedia and its\r\ndata storage procedures. This study aims to analyze the\r\nstandards for implementing personal data protection by\r\nTokopedia to ensure the safety of user data and prevent\r\nbreaches. In addition, this research also examines the data\r\nstorage procedures employed by Tokopedia to maintain the\r\nconfidentiality and integrity of consumer data.\r\nThis study is a field research, with a descriptive-analytic\r\nnature. It uses a juridical-empirical approach by directly\r\nexamining the normative aspects of data protection law from the\r\nconsumer perspective on the protection of their personal data.\r\nData is obtained through interviews with relevant parties,\r\nliterature review, and legal document analysis, such as Law No.\r\n27 of 2022 on Personal Data Protection and other technical\r\nregulations.\r\nThe results of this study show that Tokopedia has\r\nimplemented preventive measures such as data encryption,\r\naccess encryption, system authentication, and regular audits.\r\nHowever, the implementation of data storage procedures reveals\r\nchallenges in terms of compliance with regulations, such as the\r\nintegration between the technology used and the increasing\r\nvolume of data. Therefore, further supervision from the\r\ngovernment and increased transparency from Tokopedia in\r\nmanaging user personal data are necessary.
