The significant decline in marriage rates in Indonesia over the past five years forms the primary background of this research. Statistical data reveal a consistent decrease in marriage rates, alongside an increasing trend in the age of first marriage from 2015 to 2023. Generation Z, raised in the digital era, enjoys broad access to information but faces social, economic, and personal challenges in deciding to marry. This research employs a qualitative approach with a descriptive-analytic method, involving interviews with master?s program students from UIN Sunan Kalijaga and Yogyakarta State University. The findings indicate that marriage readiness among Generation Z is not solely determined by age but also by emotional maturity, financial stability, and physical and mental health preparedness. These perspectives are closely aligned with the concept of al-Ba?ah, which emphasizes the capability to fulfill marital responsibilities, both materially and spiritually. Generation Z Muslims in Yogyakarta view marriage as a significant decision requiring emotional, financial, and intellectual readiness. They prioritize various aspects of marital preparedness, including mental health, financial stability, education, and physical health, with priorities differing among individuals. Additionally, marital readiness is understood as the ability to handle the responsibilities of marriage, emphasizing financial stability, mental health, and spiritual education. This perspective reflects a mature and rational understanding aimed at building an ideal family in accordance with Islamic values.} }
