%X The concept of prayer from Al-Ghazali's perspective as an alternative
means of solving online gambling problems is intended to gain an
understanding of Al-Ghazali's concept of prayer as a solution to online
gambling problems. This study highlights the increasingly widespread
phenomenon of online gambling in Indonesia, driven by technological
advances that are now widely used for negative purposes. This is indicated
by data stating that around 2.7 million Indonesians, some of whom are
Muslims, are involved in online gambling, covering various levels of
society. The rules in Islam clearly prohibit gambling because it damages
morals and fosters greed. The formulation of the problem in this study is: (1)
What are the values of the concept of prayer from Al-Ghazali's perspective?
(2) What are the values of prayer from Al-Ghazali's perspective as a solution
to online gambling problems?
This type of research is qualitative in the form of literature (library
research). The method used is bibliography which involves systematic steps
in finding, reading, and reviewing relevant books that aim to make it easier
to understand Al-Ghazali's thoughts regarding his philosophical and Sufism
concepts. The primary source of this research relies on the book Ihya'
Ulumuddin by Al-Ghazali, with a special emphasis on the discussion related
to the concept of Sufism in prayer. In processing the data, this research uses
several techniques, including: (1) Description, this research explains the
concepts contained in Al-Ghazali's thoughts as a whole, especially about the
concept of prayer. (2) Interpretation, this research conducts a deep dive and
explores the ideas and ideas contained in Al-Ghazali's works on prayer. (3)
Analysis, this research explains certain terms that require a deep conceptual
understanding.
The results of this study indicate that prayer is not only an obligation
and pillar of religion for Muslims, but can also make a positive contribution
to the problems of human life such as the problems of online gambling.
Some of Al-Ghazali's views on prayer can help overcome the problem of
online gambling as follows: (1) Strengthening faith and piety, (2) Increasing
awareness and self -control, (3) Filling time with positive activities, (4)
Strengthening positive social relationships, (5) Growing awareness of the
consequences of gambling, (6) Requesting protection and guidance, (7)
Instilling moral values.
