"This research discusses the emancipation views of Qasim Amin from\r\nEgypt and Raden Ajeng Kartini from Indonesia, two pioneering figures of\r\nwomen's emancipation in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. Both have\r\nthe same spirit in fighting for women's equality in a patriarchal society.\r\nHowever, differences in social background, culture, and interpretation of\r\nIslam create different approaches in their views. The formulation of the\r\nproblem in this research is: How do Qasim Amin and Raden Ajeng Kartini\r\nview women's emancipation, and how is the comparison between their views?\r\nThis research aims to analyze the views of women's emancipation of\r\nQasim and Kartini, and map the similarities and differences between the two\r\nin expressing their views related to women's emancipation. This research uses\r\nqualitative methods, with descriptive analysis methods, historical continuity,\r\ninterpretation, and comparative. The data collected in this research is through\r\nliterature studies taken from primary sources, namely the books Tahrir Al-\r\nMar'ah and Al-Mar'ah Al-Jadidah by Qasim Amin and a collection of Kartini's\r\nletters written in the book Habis Gelap terbitlah terang. While secondary data\r\ncomes from books, articles, and theses related to the two figures.\r\nThe results show that both fought for access to education for women,\r\nvoiced women's contribution to society, demanded the right to file for divorce,\r\nand rejected the practice of polygamy, both are also inspired by Western\r\nthought. However, there are differences in their approach to religious texts,\r\nthus distinguishing their style of feminism. In addition, different cultural and\r\nnational conditions also influenced the differences in the spirit of their\r\nstruggle.
