Comedians are required to continuously write funny and mature comedic material to avoid causing disturbances in society. This research explains how the intrapersonal communication process of comedians occurs when writing stand-up comedy material, using three stages of the writing process theory: prewriting, writing, and revising. This type of research employs a qualitative descriptive approach. The selection of subjects in this study utilized purposive sampling, with the subjects being four comedians from the Standupindo Jogja community who performed at a national stand-up comedy event. Meanwhile, the object of this research is to explore and understand the intrapersonal communication process of comedians from the Standupindo Jogja community in writing their material. The conclusion of this research indicates that the intrapersonal communication process of comedians in writing stand-up comedy material shows similarities through four stages: sensation, perception, memory, and thinking. All four informants also went through the three stages of the writing process theory: prewriting, writing, and revising. Additionally, the informants tended to use a realistic thinking style in writing their material.} }
