Karwadi, M.Ag abstract: Generation Z faces significant challenges in the digital and globalized era, which has led to shifts in cultural and social values. In the context of West Sumatra, efforts to shape the character of the younger generation require an approach that aligns with local values, one of which is the concept of Adat Basandi Syarak, Syarak Basandi Kitabullah (ABS-SBK). As a life philosophy of the Minangkabau people, ABS-SBK integrates the values of local traditions and Islam, which is relevant for implementation in character education. This study aims to analyze the strategy of character education at MTsN 3 Lima Puluh Kota and its relevance to the ABS-SBK principles. This research is a field study using a qualitative research method with a descriptive approach. Data collection was carried out through observation, interviews, and documentation. Data analysis techniques include data condensation, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. Data validity tests were conducted using prolonged engagement and triangulation. The results of the study indicate that, first, the character education strategy at MTsN 3 Lima Puluh Kota includes role modeling, integration in the curriculum, extracurricular activities, school culture, reward systems, and a teaching approach that involves discipline. Second, the values of character developed in Generation Z at MTsN Lima Puluh Kota include discipline, honesty, responsibility, cooperation, empathy, tolerance, politeness, hard work, mutual assistance, and improvement of good manners. These values are reflected in the students' behaviors, which demonstrate high morality, social interaction skills, and commitment to prevailing social norms. Third, the relevance of character education at MTsN 3 Lima Puluh Kota to the ABS-SBK concept is realized through the integration of Islamic and Minangkabau cultural values in shaping the character of Generation Z. Character education at this school combines Islamic values with local wisdom, such as the principles "Syarak Mangato Adat Mamakai" and "Kesudahan adat ka balai urang," guiding students to practice religious values, social responsibility, mutual cooperation, and justice.
