%X Academic information system plays important role in educational institution. Designing an academic information system in an educational institution is the right solution so that the process of managing academic data into useful information can be done quickly and easily. Information is one of the most important needs of society. To date, people get the information easier through various media. One of those is through a website which is an advancement in the utilization of technology that continues to grow. In this digital and information era, almost everyone uses website as the main choice for providing and searching the information because it is easy to access and up-to-date. Websites are used in almost all areas to support various activities. This can be seen when we surf the internet, there are many web pages that are used to carry out online activities. Likewise in the field of education where there are web pages that can be used for online teaching and learning activities, so that learning activities can be carried out anywhere and anytime.
This research aims to design and build a Web-Based Academic Information System of SLB B Karnnamanohara. It is hoped that the results of this research can help the work of the Curriculum section in managing school academic information, so that the dissemination of information that was previously done manualy by printing and pasting on the board turns into a web-based system that is faster, more effective, and efficient. This makes it easier for students and teachers to obtain information related to school academics such as student data, teacher data, lesson schedules, and grade data whenever and wherever needed. In this system, the page menu can only be accessed by certain users including students, teachers and administrators. In this research, a Web-based Academic Information System has been developed with a case study at SLB B Karnnamanohara. In building this system, system development tools are used, namely Data Flow Diagram (DFD), Context Diagram, Entity Relationship Diagram (ERD) and using the PHP programming language and MySQL as the database. System testing is carried out using the black box testing method which testing the system in terms of functionality.
