"Stimulating language development has an important role in\r\nchildren's development. Language becomes a tool for\r\ncommunicating with interlocutors. In that sense, language is the\r\nmost important instrument and can influence everyday life,\r\nbecause if you cannot communicate it means you cannot express\r\nwhat you think and what you want. Stimulation of language\r\ndevelopment can be done by storytelling. Apart from being able to\r\nbe done anywhere and anytime, fairy tales can also improve\r\ncommunication between children and parents if applied at home,\r\nso that fairy tales become an effective and efficient choice. This\r\nresearch aims: 1.) To observe the process of providing stimulation\r\ncarried out by volunteers in Kampung Dongeng Yogyakarta to\r\nyoung children in storytelling activities. 2.) To collect data on the\r\nimportance of fairy tales in stimulating early childhood language\r\ndevelopment. This research uses a qualitative research method\r\nusing a phenomenological approach. The techniques used in\r\ncollecting data are observation, interviews and documentation\r\ntechniques. The results of this research show that the Yogyakarta\r\nFairy Tale Village has a role in stimulating early childhood\r\nlanguage development, namely: First, the storytelling activities\r\nbrought by the volunteers are very varied, namely by imitating\r\nsounds like animals and using the right intonation and body\r\ngestures such as running. Fairy tales are also presented using media\r\nsuch as songs, instruments, dolls, puppets, books, costumes, makeup\r\nand appropriate settings that are well decorated. Second, the\r\nfairy tales presented play an important role in stimulating\r\nchildren's language development. Used as an intermediary to\r\nintroduce new vocabulary, teach how to communicate, teach\r\nchildren to respond or express feelings in the desired sentence and\r\nalso teach children to determine the structure to be used."^^ .
