The research is motivated by the increasing discourse on religious moderation. The concept of religious moderation emerges through the contributions of intellectual figures, one of whom is Buya Hamka. It is essential to explore Buya Hamka's ideas on religious moderation to expand the treasury of knowledge and implement them in the Islamic education system. The objective of this study is to analyze the concept of religious moderation in Buya Hamka?s thoughts and how his ideas can be applied in Islamic education. The research method used is library research with a scholarly study approach. The primary sources of this study are Falsafah Hidup and Tafsir Al-Azhar by Buya Hamka, while secondary sources consist of articles and other scholarly works related to religious moderation and Islamic education. Data collection was conducted through documentation, and the data analysis was carried out using the content analysis method. The findings of this study reveal that Buya Hamka does not explicitly use the term "religious moderation," yet the values of moderation are evident in his thoughts. These concepts are reflected in several key aspects, namely national commitment, tolerance, anti-violence, and accommodation of local culture. According to Buya Hamka, love for the homeland is an integral part of faith, tolerance is a necessary attitude to appreciate differences and maintain social harmony, anti-violence is crucial in resolving conflicts to foster unity, and local culture can be accommodated in Islamic preaching as long as it does not contradict Islamic teachings. These ideas hold significant relevance for Islamic education in the context of a multicultural society. The relevance of these concepts is particularly reflected in curriculum design, teaching strategies, and evaluation methods based on the values of religious moderation.
