abstract: Proton therapy is one of the radiotherapies using high-energy proton particles. The production of high-energy proton particles will produce contaminant particles such as neutrons. Neutron particles are harmful because they have a high Linear Energy Transfers (LET) value. Therefore, radiation protection efforts are needed in the form of the use of shielding. This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of shielding material variations in simulation-based proton therapy using PHITS software. The simulation was carried out by modeling a proton therapy room consisting of the front, back, right, and left walls of the cyclotron room and the beam transport system room. The variety of materials includes aluminum, iron, BPE, concrete, and tungsten with thicknesses that comply with IAEA standards. The proton energy used is varied in the range of 70 MeV to 230 MeV at 40 MeV intervals to describe different clinical conditions. The limit of the dose rate value in accordance with Regulation of the Head of the Nuclear Energy Supervisory Agency No. 3 of 2013 is as follows 2,5
