However, this freedom has also created fertile ground for the emergence of negative speech, including its manifestation in fan responses that tend to target and criticize one party of an idol relationship during controversies and negative publicity on social media. This study aims to analyze and identify misogynistic speech found in comments made by K-Pop fans, specifically in the romantic relationship scandal involving a member of the Korean girl group Blackpink, Jennie, as featured on the Instagram account @panncafe. The study employs New Media Theory and Fontanella concept of misogyny as its analytical framework, utilizing a qualitative approach through netnography. The findings indicate that misogynistic speech expressed by K-Pop fans in this case can be categorized into two main themes were found that dominated the fan comments column in response to @panncafe Instagram uploads, namely (1) negative speech and labeling based on gender stereotypes that cornered and (2) verbal objectification. Misogyny utterances are also influenced by various factors, including freedom to interact in the digital space, account anonymity, and inadequate Instagram social media regulations, which influence the intensity of more massive misogyny comments in response to Jennie Blackpink's romantic relationship.
