"This study examines the profile of Islamic Religious Education\r\n(PAI) teachers in inclusive schools by integrating the six core\r\ncompetencies of PAI teachers with the Diversity, Equity, and\r\nInclusion (DEI) framework. Inclusive education is recognized as\r\nan ideal approach to providing equal educational access for all\r\nstudents. However, its implementation still faces various\r\nchallenges, such as limited understanding of inclusivity principles,\r\ninsufficient facilities, and the unpreparedness of teachers to\r\naddress the diverse needs of students. These challenges are more\r\ncomplex for PAI teachers, who must combine expertise in Islamic\r\nteaching with sensitivity to diversity.\r\nThis qualitative study employs a phenomenological approach to\r\nexplore the lived experiences of PAI teachers in inclusive schools\r\nin Sleman Regency, Yogyakarta. Data collection methods include\r\nin-depth interviews, observations, and document analysis, using\r\npurposive sampling focused on teachers of Aqidah Akhlak, Tahsin\r\nand Tahfidz, Tafsir, Al-Qur’an Hadith, Islamic Cultural History\r\n(SKI), and Fiqh. The study analyzes the specific abilities of PAI\r\nteachers based on the Minister of Religious Affairs Decree (KMA)\r\nNumber 211 of 2011 regarding PAI teacher competencies.\r\nThe results show that PAI teachers possess unique characteristics\r\naligned with the six core competencies: pedagogical, personal,\r\nsocial, professional, leadership, and spiritual. These\r\ncompetencies are strengthened by integrating DEI principles,\r\nemphasizing diversity appreciation, equitable treatment, and\r\ninclusive practices. This research also produces research novelty,\r\nnamely about the importance of inclusive competencies that\r\nteachers must have. Visualizations using NVivo, such as word\r\nclouds, circular hierarchical charts, and network diagrams,\r\nillustrate the interconnection between PAI teacher competencies\r\nand DEI elements, providing a comprehensive depiction of PAI\r\nteacher profiles in inclusive education. This study also explains\r\nthe factors that influence the diversity of PAI teacher profiles at\r\nMAN 2 Sleman\r\nThis study emphasizes the important role of PAI teachers in\r\npromoting inclusive education, where diversity is seen as a\r\nstrength and justice as a priority.
