Inclusive education is recognized as an ideal approach to providing equal educational access for all students. However, its implementation still faces various challenges, such as limited understanding of inclusivity principles, insufficient facilities, and the unpreparedness of teachers to address the diverse needs of students. These challenges are more complex for PAI teachers, who must combine expertise in Islamic teaching with sensitivity to diversity. This qualitative study employs a phenomenological approach to explore the lived experiences of PAI teachers in inclusive schools in Sleman Regency, Yogyakarta. Data collection methods include in-depth interviews, observations, and document analysis, using purposive sampling focused on teachers of Aqidah Akhlak, Tahsin and Tahfidz, Tafsir, Al-Qur’an Hadith, Islamic Cultural History (SKI), and Fiqh. The study analyzes the specific abilities of PAI teachers based on the Minister of Religious Affairs Decree (KMA) Number 211 of 2011 regarding PAI teacher competencies. The results show that PAI teachers possess unique characteristics aligned with the six core competencies: pedagogical, personal, social, professional, leadership, and spiritual. These competencies are strengthened by integrating DEI principles, emphasizing diversity appreciation, equitable treatment, and inclusive practices. This research also produces research novelty, namely about the importance of inclusive competencies that teachers must have. Visualizations using NVivo, such as word clouds, circular hierarchical charts, and network diagrams, illustrate the interconnection between PAI teacher competencies and DEI elements, providing a comprehensive depiction of PAI teacher profiles in inclusive education. This study also explains the factors that influence the diversity of PAI teacher profiles at MAN 2 Sleman This study emphasizes the important role of PAI teachers in promoting inclusive education, where diversity is seen as a strength and justice as a priority. These findings are expected to inspire an increase in the professionalism of PAI teachers, ultimately contributing to the realization of an inclusive education system. date: 2025-01-31 date_type: published pages: 336 institution: UIN SUNAN KALIJAGA YOGYAKARTA department: FAKULTAS ILMU TARBIYAH DAN KEGURUAN thesis_type: masters thesis_name: other citation: Anita Intan Rohmatuszahroh, NIM.: 22204012022 (2025) PROFIL GURU PENDIDIKAN AGAMA ISLAM (PAI) DI MAN 2 SLEMAN DALAM PENDIDIKAN INKLUSIF MENGACU PADA KOMPETENSI GURU PAI DAN KERANGKA KERJA DIVERSITY, EQUITY, AND INCLUSION (DEI).
