The regression analysis of panel data with the Fixed Effect model showed a significant non-linear relationship between GDP per capita and forest area, with the applicability of a U-shaped curve according to the EKC hypothesis. In addition, population numbers have a significant negative effect on the area of forest areas, supporting the hypothesis of the Neo-Malthusian Theory. These results highlight the economic and demographic impact on deforestation in the region.
