Sangkot Sirait, M.Ag abstract: This study aims to analyse the concept of child education in Quraish Shihab's perspective based on Tafsir Al-Mishbah on QS. Luqman verses 12-19, explore the educational values contained therein, and examine its relevance to the challenges of Islamic education in the contemporary era. This research uses character study research which is one type of qualitative research with primary data sources derived from Tafsir Al-Mishbah, supported by various other relevant literature. Data collection methods with several steps and then data analysis techniques using content analysis. The results showed that the concept of child education in Tafsir Al-Mishbah emphasises six main principles, namely: (1) tawhid education as the main foundation, (2) the importance of gratitude and recognising the greatness of Allah, (3) the obligation to respect and be filial to parents, (4) awareness of the consequences of every action, (5) the importance of upholding worship, amar ma'ruf nahi munkar, and patience in facing trials, and (6) a humble and wise attitude in social interaction. This concept has strong relevance in contemporary Islamic education, especially in facing the challenges of globalisation, digitalisation, and moral disruption experienced by the younger generation The contribution of this research is to provide insights for educators, parents, and academics in building an Islamic values-based child education system that is contextual to the times.
