The Direct Message feature allows users to edit messages within 15 minutes after being sent, providing flexibility in communication. However, this feature can also be misused to delete or manipulate digital evidence, posing challenges in forensic investigations. This study analyzes digital artifacts from edited messages using the Genymotion Android emulator and Android Debug Bridge (ADB) in a virtual environment. Experimental results demonstrate that the history of message edits can be identified, including the number of edits, timestamps, modified text versions, and their storage locations within the system. These findings contribute to the field of digital forensics by providing a method for verifying the integrity and authenticity of electronic evidence. This analysis can support criminal investigations and legal proceedings by uncovering hidden facts within modified messages, thereby enhancing the accuracy and validity of digital evidence in law enforcement.
