One of the e-commerce platforms that has its own delivery service is Shopee, with its courier service named Shopee Express. In every delivery process, it is undeniable that issues may arise in providing services to consumers. Based on field observations made by the author, some consumers have experienced losses when using Shopee Express courier services at the Ngaglik Hub, such as receiving damaged or lost items during the shipping process. This puts consumers in a disadvantageous position, leading to conflicts between consumers and business operators. This situation motivated the author to study consumer protection for damaged or lost items during the shipping process, as well as the form of responsibility that the courier service provider gives to consumers for damaged or lost items at the Shopee Express Ngaglik Hub. The research method used is field research, which outlines consumers' unmet rights. The approach taken is a juridical-empirical approach, referring to the laws or regulations that apply in society. The theoretical framework used in this study includes consumer protection theory and legal responsibility theory. The results of this study indicate that: First, consumer protection against damaged or lost goods during the shipping process by couriers is an important issue in e-commerce trade. Courier companies need to provide compensation or reimbursement to consumers who are harmed. Second, the form of responsibility given by Shopee Express Ngaglik Hub to consumers due to issues in the delivery process is by offering compensation in the form of a refund corresponding to the price of the lost goods, thus finding a middle ground.
