description: Land registration is a crucial step in ensuring legal certainty, legal  protection, and benefits for society. In Kapanewon Imogir i, the implementation of  land registration in 2023 has not been optimal, despite the Complete Systematic  Land Registration (PTSL) program being conducted in the previous year. Various  obstacles were still encountered, including administrative, technical, a nd public  awareness issues regarding land registration. Therefore, this study aims to  analyze the optimization of land registration for legal certainty in Kapanewon  Imogiri in 2023 and identify the barriers that hinder the process.  This study employs thre e main legal theories: the theory of legal certainty,  the theory of legal protection, and the theory of legal benefit. The research utilizes  an empirical legal research method through field studies. Data collection  techniques involve three approaches: obse rvation, documentation, and interviews.  Structured interviews were conducted with various relevant parties, including  jaga baya from three villages in Kapanewon Imogiri and the Land Office (BPN) of  Bantul Regency. The collected data were then analyzed qual itatively using a  descriptive analytical approach.  The research findings indicate that the implementation of land registration  in Kapanewon Imogiri has been supported by several factors, such as high public  awareness, annual land registration targets, the implementation of the PTSL  program, and the performance of government authorities. However, numerous  obstacles were still found in the field, which led to the suboptimal implementation  of land registration. These obstacles include issues with Letter C, un clear land  ownership status, lack of coordination between the village government and the  ATR/BPN Bantul, sporadic land registration costs, and regulatory inconsistencies  in the land registration process.
