"Land registration is a crucial step in ensuring legal certainty, legal\r\nprotection, and benefits for society. In Kapanewon Imogir i, the implementation of\r\nland registration in 2023 has not been optimal, despite the Complete Systematic\r\nLand Registration (PTSL) program being conducted in the previous year. Various\r\nobstacles were still encountered, including administrative, technical, a nd public\r\nawareness issues regarding land registration. Therefore, this study aims to\r\nanalyze the optimization of land registration for legal certainty in Kapanewon\r\nImogiri in 2023 and identify the barriers that hinder the process.\r\nThis study employs thre e main legal theories: the theory of legal certainty,\r\nthe theory of legal protection, and the theory of legal benefit. The research utilizes\r\nan empirical legal research method through field studies. Data collection\r\ntechniques involve three approaches: obse rvation, documentation, and interviews.\r\nStructured interviews were conducted with various relevant parties, including\r\njaga baya from three villages in Kapanewon Imogiri and the Land Office (BPN) of\r\nBantul Regency. The collected data were then analyzed qual itatively using a\r\ndescriptive analytical approach.\r\nThe research findings indicate that the implementation of land registration\r\nin Kapanewon Imogiri has been supported by several factors, such as high public\r\nawareness, annual land registration targets, the implementation of the PTSL\r\nprogram, and the performance of government authorities. However, numerous\r\nobstacles were still found in the field, which led to the suboptimal implementation\r\nof land registration. These obstacles include issues with Letter C, un clear land\r\nownership status, lack of coordination between the village government and the\r\nATR/BPN Bantul, sporadic land registration costs, and regulatory inconsistencies\r\nin the land registration process."^^ .
