One way to choose a partner is through matchmaking. This research is motivated by the researcher’s interest in the marriage model that uses the matchmaking method. Matchmaking typically involves parents, guardians, or third parties as intermediaries who consider various important aspects in selecting a partner. The discussion about matchmaking is closely related to religious and family traditions. In today’s era, many people oppose matchmaking for various reasons and considerations. This contrasts with the pesantren community, which still upholds their matchmaking tradition. Therefore, it is important to determine whether the matchmaking process conducted by kyai in the pesantren aligns with the principles of marriage and whether the matched couples can find happiness in their marital life. This type of research is classified as field research, using a qualitative research approach. Data collection methods include interviews and documentation. Interviews serve as the primary data source, conducted with the caretaker and alumni of the Ar-Robithoh Islamic Boarding School. The findings of this study are: 1) The matchmaking process is carried out by considering the compatibility of the couple based on their character, family background, and shared goals in building a household. The kyai continues to pay attention to the principles of marriage in Islam, such as the willingness of both parties, parental approval, and the compatibility (kafa’ah) between the prospective partners. 2) The implications of matchmaking on family resilience, from a family sociology perspective, suggest that the matchmaking conducted by the kyai at Pondok Pesantren Ar-Robithoh contributes to building marital resilience through several key aspects: family integrity, fulfillment of rights and duties, and conflict resolution. date: 2025-03-05 date_type: published pages: 145 institution: UIN SUNAN KALIJAGA YOGYAKARTA department: FAKULTAS SYARI’AH DAN HUKUM thesis_type: skripsi thesis_name: other citation: Anindya Mutiara Jingga, NIM.: 21103050056 (2025) IMPLIKASI PERJODOHAN OLEH KYAI DI PONDOK AR-ROBITHOH TERHADAP KETAHANAN KELUARGA (STUDI KASUS ALUMNI PONDOK PESANTREN AR-ROBITHOH).
