Therefore, Islam not only teaches ethics between humans but also emphasizes how humans should treat the surrounding nature. However, it is rare to find teachings specifically discussing the environment within Islam, while environmental ethics in the West has become a popular topic of discussion and implementation. Deep Ecology (DE) is an environmental ethics theory developed by Arne Naess, a Norwegian environmental philosopher. Naess sought to raise awareness of the importance of environmental ethics in Europe, which eventually spread worldwide, even though it became a hot topic in the 19th century. Based on this, this study evaluates environmental ethics in Islam through Arne Naess's environmental ethics, resulting in an analysis from a different perspective. The aim of this study is to analyze environmental ethics theory in Islam, perceptions, and attitudes toward the environment through Arne Naess's ecocentric theory. This study employs a literature review method by collecting data related to environmental ethics in Islam. The data is then analyzed using a descriptive-critical approach to provide deeper insights. As a result, the study presents an analysis from the perspective of Arne Naess's ecocentric theory on environmental ethics in Islam, which views Islam as the Khalifah (steward) of the Earth, while Naess considers humans and nature as equals, with no difference between the two. %Z Dr. Alim Roswantoro, M.
