abstract: In an increasingly complex era of globalization, the challenge of building interfaith harmony is becoming increasingly crucial. Maguwoharjo Village, as one of the areas with high population diversity, is an interesting example to analyze how the values of religious moderation can be implemented in the context of local wisdom.
This study aims to analyze the implementation of religious moderation values in local wisdom to build a multicultural society in Maguwoharjo Village. This type of research uses qualitative research. The technique of taking informants uses purposive sampling and snowball sampling. Data collection techniques were carried out through observation and interviews, and documentation. The data analysis technique uses the interactive model of Miles Huberman and Saldana through three stages, namely data condensation, data presentation, and data verification. The data validity test in the study used triangulation techniques in the form of source triangulation and technique triangulation.
The results of this study show First, the implementation of religious moderation values such as tolerance, mutual respect, cooperation, and an open attitude that has been embedded in local wisdom, spreading understanding of religious moderation values to all levels of society, especially the younger generation. involving all parties to form or strengthen institutions that play a role in maintaining and developing religious moderation values. Second, the implemented values are, namely, the value of (tawassuth), (i'tidal), the value of tolerance, deliberation, the value of Citizenship (muwathanah), Anti-violence Value. Culture Friendly Values. Supporting factors for the implementation of community mindset, Javanese culture, economic education. While the inhibiting factors are the challenges of globalization, and the influence of global culture. The implication of this research aims to build a harmonious multicultural society. Implicitly, religious moderation teaches differences in religion and culture, views differences as a blessing, and prevents radicalism. Through contextualized Islamic religious education, it can encourage inclusive education by respecting diversity. Its relevance in Islamic religious education lies in contextualizing Islamic teachings with local culture, building tolerant and noble characters, strengthening moderate Islamic identity in the era of globalization, and supporting government programs through the integration of religious moderation in the curriculum.
