In addition, students can train their skills, leadership, and organizational abilities, learn about a problem to find a solution, dare to voice different opinions or according to their wishes, and socialize with the community through various activities they participate in. At UIN Sunan Kalijaga itself, there are two types of organizations run by students, namely intra and extra organizations. The Student Executive Board (DEMA) of UIN Sunan Kalijaga is one of the organizations that is institutionally formal on campus and plays an important role as a liaison between intra-campus organizations and extra-campus organizations, each of which has different roles and goals. This study was conducted with the aim of determining the communication efforts made by DEMA-U with extra-campus organizations within the UIN Sunan Kalijaga environment. This study uses a qualitative approach with data collection methods in the form of interviews, observations, and documentation. The analysis was carried out using a theoretical perspective, according to Sendjaja (2007) on the function of organizational communication. The results of this study indicate that the function of organizational communication carried out by DEMA-U has been running quite well, including informative, integrative, and persuasive functions. Meanwhile, the regulatory function is known to be still not as massive as the other three functions. %Z Achmad Zuhri, M. I. Kom.
