One example\r\nis the Sundanese who migrated to Yogyakarta. From previous research, Sundanese\r\npeople have a tradition called \"riung mungpulung\", which emphasizes gathering\r\ntogether, so it is rare for them to have the intention to travel. This raises a research\r\nquestion: What are the practices of nomadic communication accommodation in\r\ncarrying out intercultural adaptation among the Sundanese in Yogyakarta?. The\r\ntheoretical framework of this research includes the Theory of Communication\r\nAccommodation and the Theory of Intercultural Adaptation. This study uses a\r\nqualitative descriptive approach. The subjects of this study are Sundanese\r\nindividuals who have lived in Yogyakarta with their families for at least five years.\r\nData collection methods include interviews, observations, and documentation.\r\nThese findings reveal that Sundanese families practice communication\r\naccommodation to adjust to life in Yogyakarta. The forms of communication\r\naccommodation that occur in each phase include: the enculturation phase, which is\r\nreflected in the customs and language of Yogyakarta culture while maintaining its\r\noriginal identity; the acculturation phase, which occurs through the use of the\r\nJavanese language in daily communication; the deculturation phase, which is\r\ncharacterized by a decrease in the use of Sundanese in the family; and the\r\nassimilation phase, which occurs as migrants increasingly adopt elements of local\r\nculture. One of the significant impacts of this communication accommodation is\r\nthe loss of Sundanese language skills among the younger generation due to the\r\ndominance of the Indonesian language. This research opens up opportunities for\r\nfurther study of strategies for preserving cultural identity in the new environment\r\nand the long-term effects of language shifts on the survival of Sundanese culture in\r\nfuture generations."^^ .
