Based on existing data, the professional value of teachers is still relatively low, so more attention is needed to improve the performance and professionalism of their teachers as educators. This research is motivated by the importance of teacher professionalism which must meet the qualification, competency, and certification standards set in Indonesia. This study was conducted in SMP NU Al-Qur'aniyah, located on Jl. Sumur Pondok, using qualitative research type. Data were obtained through interviews, observations and documentation. Data validity checks were conducted by triangulating sources. Data analysis was conducted by data reducion, data presentation and drawing conclusions. The principal has a key role in designing and implementing effective strategies to improve teacher professionalism. The research results show that the strategy includes competency training and development, performance management, and providing motivation to teachers. Principals in improving teacher performance through clear division of tasks, development of lesson plans, and teacher capacity building programs. However, there are obstacles such as lack of motivation and adequate facilities and infrastructure, which can be overcome through increased discipline and supervision. Overall, this study emphasizes the importance of teacher professionalism and the role of the principal in creating a quality educational environment. Thus, it is hoped that this study can be an evaluation material for teachers to continue to develop themselves and improve the quality of teachers. (1) Principal Planning Strategy includes a. supervision and b. teacher training, which includes: supporting MGMP activities, holding seminars and workshops, supporting teacher certification, training and IHT (in-house training). (2) Principal Implementation Strategy includes: a. conducting class visits, holding routine meetings, having personal talks with teachers, discipline, providing motivation and giving awards. b. curriculum development, application of technology in learning, preparation of KBM programs.
