"To analyze teacher professionalism in Indonesia, which is an important factor\r\nin improving the quality of education. Based on existing data, the professional value of\r\nteachers is still relatively low, so more attention is needed to improve the performance\r\nand professionalism of their teachers as educators. This research is motivated by the\r\nimportance of teacher professionalism which must meet the qualification, competency,\r\nand certification standards set in Indonesia.\r\nThis study was conducted in SMP NU Al-Qur'aniyah, located on Jl. Sumur\r\nPondok, using qualitative research type. Data were obtained through interviews,\r\nobservations and documentation. Data validity checks were conducted by triangulating\r\nsources. Data analysis was conducted by data reducion, data presentation and drawing\r\nconclusions. The principal has a key role in designing and implementing effective\r\nstrategies to improve teacher professionalism.\r\nThe research results show that the strategy includes competency training and\r\ndevelopment, performance management, and providing motivation to teachers.\r\nPrincipals in improving teacher performance through clear division of tasks,\r\ndevelopment of lesson plans, and teacher capacity building programs. However, there\r\nare obstacles such as lack of motivation and adequate facilities and infrastructure,\r\nwhich can be overcome through increased discipline and supervision. Overall, this\r\nstudy emphasizes the importance of teacher professionalism and the role of the\r\nprincipal in creating a quality educational environment. Thus, it is hoped that this\r\nstudy can be an evaluation material for teachers to continue to develop themselves and\r\nimprove the quality of teachers. (1) Principal Planning Strategy includes a. supervision\r\nand b. teacher training, which includes: supporting MGMP activities, holding seminars\r\nand workshops, supporting teacher certification, training and IHT (in-house training).\r\n(2) Principal Implementation Strategy includes: a. conducting class visits, holding\r\nroutine meetings, having personal talks with teachers, discipline, providing motivation\r\nand giving awards. b. curriculum development, application of technology in learning,\r\npreparation of KBM programs.
