This study reveals the relationship between Instagram usage intensity and attitude towards money as predictors, with the consumptive behaviour of college students. Using the Money Attitude Questionnaire (MAQ) adoption scale, the Multidimensional Instagram Intensity Scale (MIIS) adoption scale, and the consumptive behaviour scale, data were collected from 222 Yogyakarta student respondents using accidental sampling technique. The results of multiple linear regression analysis showed that simultaneously Instagram usage intensity and the five dimensions of attitude towards money predicted consumptive behaviour with a simultaneous effective contribution of 51.8%. Independently, only the saving concern dimension (effective contribution of 8.9%) and power and status (effective contribution of 38.9%) have a correlation with consumptive behaviour. while the intensity of Instagram use, achievement and success, and mindful and responsible are not proven to have a significant correlation with consumptive behaviour. The findings of this study can be a basic consideration for conducting further research related to the theme of consumer behaviour and practically can increase students' awareness about their attitudes towards money in order to reduce the tendency of consumptive behaviour.
