Based on the Uses and Effects Theory, which states that individuals use media to fulfill their needs and that media produces measurable effects, this study analyzes the impact of Story Instagram usage on the self-image of alumni from SMA UII Yogyakarta, class of 2019. This research employs a quantitative approach with a Likert-scale questionnaire to measure the frequency and intensity of Story Instagram usage and its impact on self-image. Data were collected through an online survey and analyzed using simple linear regression with SPSS to determine the relationship between the two variables. The results indicate a significant relationship between Story Instagram usage and self-image, with an R² value of 0.648. This means that 64.8% of the variance in self-image can be explained by Story Instagram usage, while 35.2% is influenced by other factors outside this study. These findings confirm the strong influence of social media on self-perception, supporting the Uses and Effects Theory. This study helps understand how Story Instagram shape self-image among young adults.
