"Religion and Cculture have an interrelated relationship in society. The\r\nJathilan Roso Tunggal performance is a traditional art that represents the religious\r\nand cultural values of Javanese society. Jathilan contains elements of rituals and\r\nsymbols that reflect the close relationship between belief systems and cultural\r\nheritage. However, people's understanding of the religious and cultural aspects of\r\nJathilan is still diverse, which gives rise to various interpretations regarding the\r\nmeaning and essence of this performance.\r\nThis study uses a descriptive qualitative method to analyze the elements in\r\nthe Jathilan performance and their role in shaping the cultural identity and beliefs\r\nof the people in Yogyakarta. Referring to Erving Goffman's theory of social\r\ninteraction, this study observes how the presentation of religion and culture in the\r\nJathilan Roso Tunggal performance, as well as how the image of religion and\r\nculture is formed in the performance. Data collection techniques include direct\r\nobservation, interviews with artists and the community, and documentation. Data\r\nanalysis was carried out through data reduction, data presentation, and conclusions\r\nin order to understand the development and existence of Jathilan in society.\r\nBased on the results of the research that has been conducted, several\r\nfindings have been shown: First, the presentation of religion in Jathilan Roso\r\nTunggal is reflected in rituals such as offerings as a form of respect for the Creator\r\nand trance (ndadi) which reflects a connection with the spiritual world. Cultural\r\nelements are seen in dance movements, properties, and gamelan music which\r\nrepresent the balance of humans, ancestors, and nature in Javanese beliefs. Second,\r\nthe image of religion and culture in Jathilan has developed along with social\r\nchanges and people's perspectives. Some interpret it as a spiritual expression, while\r\nothers see it as a cultural heritage that reflects local identity. Thus, this performance\r\nnot only functions as entertainment, but also as a medium of representation that\r\ncombines elements of religion and culture in the social life of the Yogyakarta\r\ncommunity."^^ .
