"Weton calculation is an element inherent in the cultural traditions of\r\nJavanese society that is still maintained, one of which is by the people of\r\nKembangkuning Village, Cepogo District. Most people in Kembangkuning Village\r\nstill use the tradition of weton calculation before marriage as a complementary\r\nkafa’ah to create a sakinah family. People believe that the results of weton\r\ncalculations can affect the continuity of a couple's marriage, especially in forming\r\na sakinah family. Based on this phenomenon, it becomes very relevant to examine\r\nthe community's belief in the practice of weton calculation as a complementary\r\nkafa’ah in realizing a sakinah family and to examine more deeply the rationality of\r\nweton calculation as a complementary kafa’ah in realizing a sakinah family.\r\nThe research method used in the thesis is field research (Field Research)\r\nwith descriptive analysis method. Using an anthropological approach, the data\r\ncollection techniques used in this research are interviews and documentation\r\nrelevant to the research. Data analysis used in this research is data reduction, data\r\npresentation, and drawing conclusions. The analysis was carried out using Max\r\nWeber's social action theory and Peter L Berger's Social Construction.\r\nThe results show that the Kembangkuning Village community's belief in the\r\npractice of weton calculation as a complementary kafa’ah is because weton has\r\nbecome part of tradition, cultural heritage, a means of realizing a sakinah family,\r\nand is considered a way to harmonize life with nature. When viewed using Max\r\nWeber's perspective, this tradition is classified as affective and traditional action.\r\nThe rationality of the Kembangkuning community's belief in weton calculation as a\r\ncomplementary kafa’ah in realizing a sakinah family is that when weton calculation\r\nis carried out, the traits and characters of each person will be known and come\r\nfrom stories of previous couples' experiences. If analyzed using Peter L. Berger's\r\nsocial construction theory, the weton calculation practice is an inherent social\r\nconstruction in society formed through the process of externalization,\r\nobjectivization and internalization."^^ .
