        abstract = {This study aims to 1) find out the role of Saung Aksara Community Reading
Parks in community empowerment in Arjowinangun Village, 2) find out the
obstacles of Community Reading Parks in community empowerment efforts. the
research method used in this research is a qualitative research method with a
descriptive approach. Data collection techniques in the study were carried out by
observation, interviews, and documentation. The data validity test uses
triangulation which includes three triangulation techniques namely source
triangulation, technique triangulation and time triangulation and conducts
membercheck. This research uses data analysis techniques in the form of data
reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results of this study are:
1) there are seven main roles of TBM Saung Aksara in empowering the people of
Arjowinangun Village, namely a) source of information, education, research,
preservation and preservation of the nation's cultural treasures as well as healthy,
cheap and useful recreation areas, b) media or a bridge between information and
knowledge in the collections owned, c) a means of establishing and developing
communication between fellow users and between TBM organizers and the
communities served, d) an institution for developing interest in reading, a passion
for reading, and reading habits through reading materials , e) facilitator, mediator,
motivator for those who wish to seek, utilize knowledge and experience, f) agent
of change, agent of development, and agent of human culture, g) non-formal
educational institution for the community and visitors to TBM. 2) The obstacles to
TBM Saung Aksara in empowering the people of Arjowinangun Village are
obstacles from internal factors in the form of a lack of human resources who help
in managing TBM Saung Aksara and then from external factors in the form of
lack of interest and consistency of the community in attending activities at TBM
Saung Aksara in education and health fields. The next obstacle in the economic
sector is the lack of discipline on the part of microfinance group members to make
capital loan installments.}
