To some extent, economic rationality has been linked to efforts to disregard cultural actions that are considered superstitious and mystical. However, essentially economic rationality can also be seen in the tarekat communities which have long been synonymous with mystical-Islamic practices. On one hand, Jombang is a region in Indonesia dominated by the culture of santri and abangan, allowing for the rapid development of Islamic mystical sects in this area. Amidst this cultural condition, the Shiddiqiyah tarekat has rapidly developed under the leadership of its founder, Kiai Muchtar. It combines elements of Sufism, philosophical aspects, and contemplative-theosophical concepts. This research aims to answer several research questions: What are the forms of economic development and doctrine of the Shiddiqiyah tarekat?; What is the rationality of economic practices of the Shiddiqiyah tarekat in Jombang from 1999 to 2015? This research is categorized as social history research. The periodization of this research is from 1999 to 2015, assuming that during this time the development of the Shiddiqiyah tarekat in the economic field has been significant. The research results indicate that the development of the Shiddiqiyah tarekat cannot be separated from the charismatic figure of Kiai Mu’thi in Losari, Jombang in 1959; the economic development of this tarekat is evident through business entities such as Musafuhu Jaya Ilahi Company; Maqoo Mineral Water Company, Yusro Hotel, and Mitra Sigaret Cooperation (MPS). Although rooted in dynamic Sufi doctrines, this tarekat emphasizes teachings that encompass the search for and economic consciousness in the world. These doctrines are reflected in the rituals and practices carried out, providing spiritual legitimacy to work ethos and economic consciousness; The rationality of economic behavior of the followers of this tarekat is evident through the symbolic understanding and doctrines taught, gaining legitimacy to achieve economic profit. Thus, in the Shiddiqiyah tarekat, spirituality and Sufi doctrines are closely related to economic consciousness, where Social Capital and Spiritual Capital also shape the economic consciousness of this community. %Z Dr. Badrun., M.Si
