%X Many previous thesis studies have discussed various types of prohibited sentences in the Al-Qur'an, however, after researchers have studied several scientific works on the meaning and prohibited sentences in the Al-Qur'an, they still do not fully cover the forms, the function and meaning of an-Nahy or prohibitions contained in the Qur'an. So the researcher wants to discuss and develop a thesis on the types and meaning of prohibitive sentences in the Koran. This research uses the theory of Abdul Qadir Husain and Mardjoko Idris in analyzing the prohibited verses in the Koran. The method used by researchers in carrying out this research process is a descriptive qualitative analysis method. The results of this research are that the type of prohibition sentence has a form that has a clear meaning (sarih), and an unclear meaning (ghiru sarih) that departs from its original meaning. The results of this research are that there are several prohibitions in the verses of the Qur'an that contain several forms of prohibition sentences that deviate from their original meaning, such as ad-Do'a (request), al-Iltimas (offer), an-Nushu wa al-Irsyad (advice). and recommendations), ad-Dawam (continuous), Bayanu al-`Aqibah (explaining the consequences), at-Tayîs (despair), at-Tahdîd (threats), al-I`tinas (calming), at-Taubîh (vilifying ), al-Istihanah wa `Adamu al-Mubalah (understatement).
