"Career decision-making is a crucial aspect of adolescent development, especially for\r\nhigh school students preparing for their future. However, many students struggle with\r\nmaking career choices. A survey conducted in public high schools within the\r\nBanguntapan District revealed that some students have low career decision-making\r\nabilities. This highlights the importance of examining the influence of authoritarian\r\nparenting styles and self-efficacy on the career decision-making process of high school\r\nstudents, particularly in this region. This research aimed to investigate whether\r\nauthoritarian parenting styles and self-efficacy can affect the career decision-making of\r\npublic high school students in Banguntapan. The study's population consisted of 10th\r\nand 11th-grade public high school students in the district, with a sample of 305 students\r\nselected using convenience sampling. Data was collected using a career decisionmaking\r\nscale, an authoritarian parenting style scale, and a self-efficacy scale. Multiple\r\nregression analysis was used for data analysis, yielding a significance level of 0.001\r\n(<0.05) with a correlation value of 0.629. The analysis results indicate a significant\r\nrelationship between authoritarian parenting styles and self-efficacy on career decisionmaking\r\namong public high school students in Banguntapan. This suggests that career\r\ndecision-making can be influenced by parents' authoritarian parenting styles and\r\nstudents' self-efficacy. Furthermore, testing the minor hypotheses revealed a significant\r\nnegative relationship between authoritarian parenting styles and career decisionmaking\r\n(R=−0.157; p<0.001). This means that the lower the authoritarian parenting\r\nstyle, the higher the career decision-making ability, and conversely, the higher the\r\nauthoritarian parenting style, the lower the career decision-making ability. In contrast,\r\nself-efficacy and career decision-making showed a significant positive relationship\r\n(R=0.466; p<0.001). This indicates that the higher the level of self-efficacy students\r\npossess, the higher their career decision-making ability will be, and conversely, if selfefficacy\r\nis lower, career decision-making ability will also be lower."^^ .
